our past offseason we have signed plenty of players to new teams. with that being said, if, for example, michael redd had a 3 year contract and 3 years from now if everything is still operating, how do we know if he's restricted or unrestricted? what if it was just a one year deal? just some thoughts

the comitee will decide on that as the offseason approches, that is the farhtest things from our minds rifght now.

thats an easy one.
don't you know anything about the nba detroit
players can only be restricted when they are in the last year of their rookie contract. michael redd can never be restricted again.

oh. didnt know that but thats good to know, but unfortuante...im sure ill lose all my big guys to other teams as im already -30 mil in cap and unless they all become FA's in the same year, i will be saying bye to kobe, garnett, francis, and johnson one by one. i guess ill have to deal them in the final year of their contract. but i never knew that...

kobe and johnson are locked up until 2010/11.
garnett and francis are until 2008/09

well kobe garnett and francis are the same, but johnson is until 2010/2011. so im going to update my salary cap one day to include the year they are FA.

Francis-2008/2009
Bryant-2010/2011
Johnson-2010/2011
