Nuggets' JR Smith Seriously Injured In Car Crash 10th June, 2007 - 12:02 am AP - Nuggets player J.R. Smith and another man were seriously injured Saturday when the sport utility vehicle Smith was driving collided with a car.
Smith and the unidentified passenger were ejected from the SUV in the crash, which occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Stagecoach Road in Millstone Township, said Sgt. Stephen Jones, a state police spokesman.
The passenger -- who had serious head wounds -- was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Hospital in Neptune, while Smith was taken there via ambulance.
Arenas Says He Will Opt Out Of Deal In '08 10th June, 2007 - 12:29 am Washington Post - Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas said last night that he will opt out of his contract after next season and become a free agent.
Arenas, who signed a six-year, $65 million contract in the summer of 2003, said his decision is based on family and business concerns rather than feelings about the direction in which the Wizards are headed as an organization.
"To me, it's just a smarter business decision to play next season, opt out and then be able to sign a long-term deal that is going to keep me in one place," said Arenas, who is recovering from left knee surgery and expects to be at full speed in time for training camp in October. "I'm not looking at anything else. It's just business. If something happens where they don't want me or they're going in a different direction, I can look elsewhere. But my intentions are not to leave."
Arenas also said he does not plan on hiring an agent. He parted ways with agent Dan Fegan last summer.
"I don't need an agent," Arenas said. "I can do all of this research myself."

I read Stoudamire or Marion might go to the Pistons. Id love to see either one. I really doubt that. No way they will trade Amare. Apparantly, it's 50-50 that the Suns trade Marion, but they are only going to do so for business reasons. They don't want to pay the luxury tax. They want to trade him for expiring contracts, or to a team with cap space, and get some great young talent in return. I don't think they will find anyone who can replace Marion, and they will keep him. They have to be willing to pay extra money if it means they have a better chance at winning a championship.

Chauncey is opting out and he is our #1 priority. I am 99.9% sure he will be a Piston next year.

Marion Diaw for Hamilton Rasheed Amir Johnson pick 15 too much for the Pistons or not enough? It's just not what the teams are looking for. Does Detroit really want Marion and Diaw when they have Prince? Who is their inside scoring presense now? Phoenix doesn't save any cap space at all trading for Rasheed and Rip, it's just not what they are looking for

both teams won't even trade with each other.
DET already has a good team, just a lack of inside defense, if they had Ben Wallace, Lebron woulden't be able to penetrate inside.
DET is just fine as well as PHX, so none of them needs to trade, only thing both these teams need is depth, both of them have guys who can't give them good energy off the bench.
Other then Barbosa and Maxille for both these teams they have nobody that can give them a boost, so that's their only problem.
And lastly as long as the Spurs are still around with Duncan, Parker, and Ginoblli, I doubt DET and PHX will rack up any rings soon.

So the Spurs are going to repeat next year and the year after?

So the Spurs are going to repeat next year and the year after? The way they are going yeah. Because DAL is still recovering from the shock MIA put them through. PHX are still soft as hell, other then Marion and Bell no one knows what the work defense means there. MIA can't rely on Wade to bail them out every time, and Shaq is getting older. DET as long as Flip Saunders is your HC, good luck winning a title CLE this is a team that might give SAS trouble in future, they have all the proper pieces but they need experience CHI have no low post prescene which will kill this team come playoff time WAS Jamison is getting older, and Arenas is looking for a paycheck NJ if Carter leaves expect Kidd to leave TOR too young, not ready yet Utah if Kirrilinko keeps getting abused and Okur keep missing shots, they are done for HOU Yao Ming plays like a SG not a C, and without Yao playing like a legit big like Duncan or Shaq, they are in big trouble GSW same problem as PHX, but they need time to get better LAL have nobody's on team besides Kobe DEN same prob as PHX, except they actually have no one besides Camby who plays D LAC Cassell is getting older, Livingston future is up in air, Maggettee still wants out, and Brand needs more back up behind him so if SAS just keeps playing the way they always play, they will always have a chance to win a title, unless injury occurs or another team is just crazy hot, or destiny won't allow them to win. every team in sports should follow the Spurs and the Patriots gameplan Those 2 teams have defined what a real team in sports whould look like as well as being successful at winning titles.

Breaking News- David Stern just read Toronto Raptors post and cancelled the playoffs this year and the entire 2007-08 season and awarded the Spurs two more championships! This is unprecedented in sports history! The remaining teams will then have a new chance to compete in the 2008-09 season, and they will all do the following:
DAL will now have an entire season to just rest and recover from the shock MIA put them through (not to mention Golden State?)
Phoenix will waive two time MVP Steve Nash for being soft, and trade Amare for Adonal Foyle because he isn't as soft.
Miami will have a year to figure out a wait to transport Shaq back in time.
Detroit will fire Flip Saunders and will be the first NBA team in history to not have a head coach. They won't hire anyone, they will have chauncey run the point and they will go in and out when they feel like it.
Cleveland making it to the finals was because they were in a joke of a conference, they absolutely do have have the proper pieces. In fact, they only have 1 proper piece. Z is slow and garbage, Gooden can't play a lick of D, Hughes is overrated and injury prone, and snow is the worst offensive PG in the league. By 2008-09, LeBron will be good enough to be the only person on the court and still win 50 games.
Chicago will have plenty of time to trade for a low post presence.
Jamison, along with everyone else in the league, will be older. Arenas will be looking for a paycheck because he's sick of getting max dollars. Maybe the problem isn't with Arenas, Butler, and Jamison, but with the chemistry and the rest of the team.
If Carter leaves, Kidd will still be hard to trade, especially after the year off, with so much money left on his contract. Good thing they are in the Atlantic.
Toronto won't be too young anymore after the extra year off!
Kirilenko will learn how to not get abused and Okur will remember how to make shots!
Houston will actually start Yao Ming at SG, since that's what he plays like, instead of out of position at C. I can't believe they didn't think of this earlier. Or wait, you said for him to play like Shaq, but now Shaq is too old, so why would he play like that? They will return the line up of PG: Alston, SG: Yao Ming, SF: McGrady, PF: Chuck Hayes, C: Bonzi Wells.. because Bonzi plays in the post more than on the permiter like other SGs.
GSW will respond to this year off by figuring out how they are too soft, and then using the time to get better.
LAL will decide to sign other people on their team besides Kobe.
Denver is also confused about how they don't play D, when they have the DPOY on their team, along with guys like Allen Iverson.
LAC will have time for Livingston to recover, trade Maggettee, and get help for Brand.

looks like Marion is going to be gone for draft picks.
I watched First Take on ESPN2, and heard it from there.
Even though they didn't specify what team it would be getting him.

Lewis reportedly is good friends with Gerald Green and would consent to the deal if Green is not a part of the package. Robert Swift also could be in the mix. Ainge has coveted Swift in the past
