dude you don't have to do nothing to re-sign Pierce, you got him for the next 4 yrs.
If he re-signed in real life then that means he automatically picked up his option in this league too.
so you hold on team for 4 more years after this year.
This is what i was told. I was wondering is this true?

Player Options If a player's contract has a player option, whatever happens in real life will happen on here. For example, if Peja Stojakovic decides to opt out of his player option in real life, he will become a free agent on here too. If Grant Hill decides to pick up his player option in real life, he will not become a free agent on here.

wait nevermind it was my mistake. toronto has the link with the discussion about that. I thought that Pierce just signed an extension, that he didnt have a player option. However, he picked up his player option and then signed an extension so Pierce is not a free agent.

Pierce picked up an option and then signed a 3 year extension. That means he will be under contract for next year, his option year, but not the next 3, his extension years. He is under contract for 1 more year.

So what if a rookie has an option for the 4th year and it is picked up? does this mean he has one more year on his contract and then a RFA?

We need a rule book or something to keep everything straight and make sure that everything is official and that there is not confussion like this b/c I was under the impression that if a player has an option and it gets picked up then it correlates here too. A rule book definately needs to be made though.

A rule book definately needs to be made though. we have a "rule book" and if a player has an option and picks it up then he does so on here as well. what did we say differently?
