Player Agents:
San Antonio Spurs
Detroit Pistons
LA Clippers
Phoenix Suns
Their will be four player agents this offseason, each will be in charge of 1/4 or so of the players, we will divide them up later. One person will have less players, but will be in charge of anyone that we don't list.
This offseason will be different. It will be much more involved. You will not simply post a reply in a thread saying "5 years, $2,000,000 each." You will have to determine which agent is in charge of your player, and send a pitch to them of what your offer is and why they should join your team.
If the player is restricted, at the end of a set period of time, the agent will contact the original team with the contract the player decided on, and ask the team if they want to match the contract. I will go in to greater detail on this later.
If the player is unrestricted, the agent will weigh the options for their client and decide on the best scenario. The most money offered might not be the best situation. John Doe might want to take less money to play for a contending team, or less money to play on a team that will give him more playing time, or more money no matter what, it will all depend on how their agent feels the player would react.
You will not know the details of any one else's bids, but you will be able to find out specifics.
"My client has a much more generous offer, and will not even consider yours"
"My client will need some time to think about your offer, it is very enticing"
"You will need to offer more money for my client to listen, he is expecting atleast $30,000,000."
"My client feels like he is a max player, and will not play anywhere for less."
"My client wants a longer contract."
"My client wants a shorter contract."
I'm just throwing these things out here, the agent can respond however he feels, to give you clues of if your offer is being considered or not. He can not tell you immediately that his client will accept the offer.
Because of how it is, Free Agency will not be in the "best offer stading for 2 days wins" or whatever. We will break it up in to certain periods. Like you can bid on this list of clients, and all bids must be in by June 12th, and the agent will reach a decision on June 13 where his client will sign. Then we will release a new list of people you can bid on.
You will NOT be allowed to bid more money than you have, not just on one person but in total. If you have $10,000,000 in cap space, you can not bid $6,000,000 for Tom to Player Agent 1 and $7,000,000 for Bill to Player Agent 2. The player agents will keep in contact, and keep all of their bids in a private forum where all the player agents can view them to check on stuff like this. I have an idea of how to handle this already. You can always PM a player agent to cancel a bid. If you bid too much in one session, you will be banned from all bids for that session, so keep track of it.
Favoritism will not play a role. You will not know which agent belongs to who, and if you are friends with a person making a bid, you should pass your client on respectfully to another agent.
Agents will sign in under different names: Player Agent 1, Player Agent 2, Player Agent 3, Player Agent 4. Try your best not to reveal your identity, just so people don't try to persuade you.
