yes 5 years SHOULD beat the 5 years. it does, first factor is base salary, if the base salary is the same, then the next basis for decision is years

The New Jersey Nets also offer Ben Wallace a 5 year contract worth 105,000,000. Earning Wallace the maximum of $21,000,000 a season. Thus, matching Seattle's offer.

...This means that the committee will decide who Ben Wallace signs with. Nobody else will be able to make a higher offer than this.
So everybody knows, I am not allowed to have a say where Wallace goes even though I am in the committee.

am i right in thinking that now this means after 36 hours the committee votes to which team gets the player, but this also means seattle can't make any bids on anyone over 7 million (i think he has 28 million in space) because this is holding up his cap?

they should take in to consideration a few things. ben wallace wants to be the man on his own team, he went to the bulls to be the best player, he didnt get enough touches on the pistons and that made him mad. he would get all the touches he wants on the sonics and a lot less on the nets with kidd carter posey and walker. just throwing my 2 cents
