this could all be solved with a hard cap set at say 70 million, not allowing teams that have 60 million already on the books, to re-sign their stars. there is a reason that they have 60 million on their roster. I think that there should definetly be a hard cap, and it solves a lot of problems

My team has an almost 80 million payroll and i didnt sign 1 person last year. This proposal is easy to say for someone who is under the cap, things have been running smoothely, I don't see the need for change.

its also easy to say for people over the cap that have key free agents, which is why there hasnt been an agreement

10-7 in favor of a change, but an even split on what the change should be

the pistons lose ben wallace, the center/anchor of their championship team. now all of a sudden the pistons GM has to go out & find someone to replace him, this helps illustrate the point that superstars DO leave their teams. The pistons had the best record in the NBA this year, but wallace leaves for the bulls who were the 7th seed i believe

10-7 in favor of a change, but an even split on what the change should be No, so far 7 people have stated they want it to stay the same which I'm pretty confident is going to happen. Milwaukee said it best. If you don't like the rules in place before you came here then get the f*ck out and find a different league. I'm going along with Milwaukee and I'm done arguing this stupid sh*t. I trust S.A. will make the right decision by not changing anything right before FA starts.

but you see, we were going to change free agency any way because SAS changed it to a max contract, and some other rules, so it was going to change no matter what.

I didn't deny that 7 people voted to keep it the same, I simply stated that 7 people voted to keep it the same, and 10 people had voted to change it

regardless of what side of the coin youre on, we all need to admit that the FA system is flawed. things like this happen in real sports & then the owners get together & figure out a solution. im confident that we can do this in this league, but we all need to keep are cool & discuss this rationally & maturely! we'll figure something out

Good turn out so far, we need 8 more voters.
Still need to vote: Toronto Raptors Philadelphia 76ers Cleveland Cavaliers Indiana Pacers Denver Nuggets Minnesota Timberwolves Golden State Warriors Memphis Grizzles
I want to wait until everyone votes, and then make a decision. It won't neccesarily be winner takes all, because I know a few friends will link together.. Memphis, Minnesota, etc will go along with Detroit, Atlanta... Philly and Toronto will go together, but that's fine. Free Agency doesn't start until July 12th in the NBA, and it will then on here. Hopefully, everyone will vote soon so we can make a decision. I, obviously, can't please everyone. Most likely scenario: No changes this year, definate changes for upcoming seasons.

i have no influence on my brother or friends, they do what they want i dont tell them what to do.
do you guys realize this is like an owners meeting when the contract for the NBA runs out. you know when all the owners and player representatives have to come up with a new collective bargaining agreement. just handle it maturally and we wont have any problems.
