Actually, either way the first option wins.

Actually, either way the first option wins. except that really it is 15-12 in favor of a change, because obviously anyone who voted for one of the last 3 would prefer any of them to the first one. it is a poorly designed poll if you count all people wanting a change seperately by which change they prefer

i agree with jazz, but here is an idea, if you go over the cap to re-sign your own players, you automaticly lose the MLE. i think that it would be more fair than a draft pick, and since you would be re-signing your star you wouldnt need the MLE.

its a rule that if you go over the cap to resign your own unrestricted free agent you are not allowed to sign any other free agent that is not your own

this is a tough isses though. Because seriously who will let anyone leave through free agency when they have a choice to keep him or not. I mean you think Ben wallace would have left detroit if the pistons were the one's who decided where he should go. It's basically the teams with cap room get to sign the lesser talented players who the good teams just didnt want to keep.

well how about, if 2 teams bid the max, we create a thread, and the two teams get one post each to convince the league that they deserve the player, after each team has made their points, we create a poll. that way, the player goes to the correct team. what do you guys think?

id be all for something like miami proposed. all im asking is for a chance to get some quality FA's, if i offer a max id at least like to have a legit chance of actually getting that player & not losing him automatically to his previous team

yes, i also would like a good chance at getting some decent free agents. it wont be right if you can go over the cap to resign your free agents. it wont be fair for the teams like washington who need free agents very badly.

k say we do like the heats thing and the team that the player was on gives max to the player i think the player should want to stay with his team and not go to a team that has not made the playoffs

no, thats not a fair idea to the people who havnt made the playoffs. i just think you shouldnt be able to go over the cap to resign your players, its not fair to the people who have not that much talent on their team. there is no point in free agency if its like that.

players leave their former teams for worse teams all the time. ben wallace left the pistons who won a ring & had the best record in the nba this past season. wallace leaves for the bulls who did make the playoffs but were not nearly as good as the pistons. peja left indy who made the playoffs for the hornets who didnt, so thats evidence this season alone that good players leave their teams
