I didn't vote yet. I'd like to keep my team because it's pretty good. However, there are some unrealistically outrageous contracts stuck with some guys that screw over some teams. I really don't think there is that much of a problem with activity in this league though.
As NJ and Houston said, this is where true GMs prove themselves. So if the GMs who dug themselves into this mess or inherited their mess aren't up for the challenge, I'm sure we can find a true GM willing to take up the challenge.
Right now, I'm torn. I'd like to hold onto my team, but I think it might be better at some point if we restart for the sake of the league and balance of talent. If we restart, I'd like to do a Fantasy Draft, possibly even with a few keepers. But right now, I'm still not sure which direction I wanna go.

they only reason i want to restart is because if we dont the league will probably die. i love my team, and put in a years worth, im not going to give it up just like that, but for the sake of the league, then yeah i would want to restart because this is my favorite league.

Yes - BUT give everyone their real life contracts
that allows the good teams to keep their same teams and the bad teams to get in better shape by removing their horrible contracts

It's tied 9 - 9 overall through the first 18 votes! Can we have polls about this offseason after this?

You dont know that for sure the league will die if we keep the same rosters. Lebron, Wade, Carmelo, Darko all will be FA this year, and if we can figure out a fair FA system, then the league should even out again. Every year in the NBA teams are down, and other teams are up. But if you are a good GM, then you should be able to keep your team up, or get your team to that upper echelon of the league. I voted to keep the same rosters. The good GM's on this site have worked to hard and wasted to many hours for all of that to go into 2 seasons. As long as we work out decent salaries(maybe a one time deal, where if you want to drop someone, you can, and it wont hurt your cap) and we work out FA( Soft cap- 60,000,000, Hard Cap 70,000,000) this league should be fine.

ANybody that was considerably good went back to there owners some how i never got that part. its not fair if no matter what your not going to be able to get a good star from FA if the owners somehow always getting them back (Not signing them back i ment)

I voted for keeping the rosters the same. I started with far and away the worst talent, and I've made alot of moves to get young guys I wanted picks and cap space. I'd be pretty ticked off if I didn't get to see where it's going. Also our new FA rules will start to bite into some of the mega teams, and spread around the stars, I say leave it. I think most of the GMs who've been here a while seem to think the same. Nothing against the new guys, but I would hate to change the league for the new guys and then have them leave.

umm man i voted to stay with the same teams it would be so gay if we had to start over like i came in this league a little bit atfer it stated but it was so good like I made the moves I had to. The new guys are here they all want to start over becuase its not there team but i really think that the people that were in here from the start love this league I know i do like i can't say much about it. I hope we don't have to start over.

Good people DID switch teams though, Bonzi Wells, Mike James, Al Harrington, for example. They all switched teams on here and in real life. There are also good people who resigned with their team even if they are over the cap (Jason Terry (my team on here, Mavs in real life) Also, when you play the video game's dynasty mode, how often do you let your good players walk away?

I'm worried about a low hard cap, I don't want to be forced to let both James and Wade walk this season, or have to ruin this season trading away everyone with big contracts.

but isnt that really why this subject came up. Because you were too good. im not happy about a low cap either, since it would most likely make me lose either Bosh or Billups, but i think that it would be best for the league

I would have to give up alot too, but it would distribute the wealth and teams would rise and fall (from bottom of the league to the top) more quickly.

but is it really realistic? would a team let someone like lebron or wade walk because of a salary cap?

i see your point, but realisticly, could one team have Duncan, LeBron, and Wade?

Or Garnett, Kobe, Hinrich, and Artest? lol, the answer is no of course. Do I want to let my team I built walk away slowly? No. Do I want the league to be competitive, challenging, and long-living? Yes. Am I willing to sacrafice my team for that? Yes.
Ive been saying to myself, if I win the title this year and we decide to stick with our real teams, I will most likely give up my team to go to the worst available team. That is something Ive been thinking about. I voted for the fantasy draft (keep 3-5 players), and I believe a system that allows more moving around of the players would suite our league better.
This is not the NBA. This is a simulation league, a game if you will. And as in all games, to keep the game interesting, things are added that just arent real. In video games this happens all the time. In movies too especially. Things are added to keep the interest level up. Well for this league I believe that should happen as well. To keep the interest level up, we need to add rules and changes that accommodate the league and help keep competition and interest up.
